Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory)

Vijay Stambha (Tower of Victory) is Chittorgarh's most magnificent monument — a 37-metre nine-storey sandstone victory tower built by Maharana Kumbha between 1448 and 1468 to commemorate his victory over the Sultan of Malwa. Covered on every surface with intricate sculptures depicting Hindu deities, mythological scenes, and historical events, it is one of India's finest examples of medieval sculpture.
