Tungnath Temple

Tungnath Temple at 3,680 m is the world's highest Shiva temple — one of the five Panch Kedar shrines in Uttarakhand and a sacred highlight of the Kedarnath circuit. The 3.5 km trek from Chopta through rhododendron and oak forest to the ancient stone shrine is one of Uttarakhand's finest short treks. Especially dramatic in winter when the temple is snowbound. A must-visit spiritual and trekking destination for Shiva devotees and Himalayan trekkers visiting Chopta.
