Surya Kund

Surya Kund is a powerful natural rapid and sacred pool near Gangotri temple where the Bhagirathi River crashes through a narrow gorge with tremendous force — creating one of the most dramatic natural spectacles in the Gangotri valley. The kund is surrounded by ancient temples dedicated to Sun God and other deities, and is a sacred bathing spot for pilgrims completing the Gangotri Char Dham yatra.
