Bhojbasa is the high-altitude meadow and camping stop at 3,792 m on the Gangotri–Gaumukh trek — named for the Bhojpatra (birch tree) forest that once covered these slopes. With breathtaking views of the Bhagirathi peaks and the Gangotri glacier tongue, it is the final overnight halt before reaching Gaumukh. The GMVN eco-camp and a small Lal Baba Ashram provide basic accommodation. Camping under the stars here amid the glacial silence is one of Uttarakhand's most memorable experiences.
