Murudeshwar Shiva Temple on Kanduka Hill is one of India's most spectacularly situated temples — home to the world's second tallest Shiva statue at 123 feet, facing the Arabian Sea in Karnataka. The 20-storey Raja Gopura (temple tower) contains a lift for devotees. According to the Ramayana, a piece of the original Atmalinga is enshrined here. The combination of the giant Shiva statue, the Arabian Sea backdrop, and the beachside location makes it one of Karnataka's top religious and tourism sites.
