Murudeshwar Beach

Murudeshwar Beach is Karnataka's most dramatic beach — a stretch of golden sand directly below the Murudeshwar Temple and the 123-foot Shiva statue, with the Arabian Sea as the backdrop. The combination of a temple, the giant Shiva figure, and a beautiful beach in one frame makes it one of South India's most photographed coastal scenes. Swimming, fishing boat watching, and sunrise photography are popular. The beach is at its most magical at dawn, when the statue catches the first light.
