Tsunami Island

Tsunami Island

Tsunami Island near Tarkarli is a serene river sandbar in the Karli backwaters — a popular boat picnic spot with shallow, crystal-clear freshwater swimming and peaceful backwater views, created by shifting sands after the 2004 tsunami. One of Tarkarli's most enjoyable and unique family sightseeing activities. Accessible only by boat; packages available from Tarkarli and Devbagh operators. Best October–February. Swimming here in the calm freshwater with forested banks on all sides is wonderfully peaceful.
