Nanda Devi at 7,816 meters is India's highest entirely within-India peak and the world's 23rd highest mountain, dominating the skyline visible from Auli in Uttarakhand. The stunning Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounds the peak, and its iconic snow-capped form is the defining and most photographed Himalayan backdrop of the entire Auli region.
