Alibaug
Alibaug's coastal roads linking Varsoli, Nagaon, and Kashid beaches are flat, relatively traffic-free, and lined with coconut groves, mango orchards, and sea views — making them some of the most pleasant cycling routes in Maharashtra. Renting cycles in Alibaug town and pedalling down to Nagaon Beach (7 km) for a swim before cycling back is a perfect half-day activity that most travellers overlook in favour of the main beach.
Start early to avoid the midday heat — Konkan summers are genuinely fierce and coastal roads offer little shade. Pack sunscreen and a water bottle.
