Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal

Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal is a magnificent 17th-century Dravidian-Italian baroque palace built by King Thirumalai Nayak in 1636 — once four times its current size, with 248 ornate columns and soaring stucco arches. The Grand Hall (Swargavilasa) with its 15-metre domed ceilings and the moonlight concert hall are architectural marvels. A top Madurai heritage attraction.
