Tansen's Tomb

Tansen's Tomb is one of Gwalior's most culturally significant monuments — the mausoleum of Miyan Tansen, the legendary 16th-century musician considered the father of Hindustani classical music and one of Emperor Akbar's nine jewels. The annual Tansen Music Festival held here each November is one of India's oldest and most prestigious classical music events.
