Puri
Puri Beach is one of the finest beaches on India's east coast — a broad, flat stretch of Bay of Bengal shoreline where the sunrise turns the water crimson and local fishermen launch their wooden boats through the waves. The beach is safe for swimming with lifeguards present, and morning light photography here is exceptional.
The northern beach near Swargadwar is used for religious bathing and cremation ceremonies — be respectful if wandering there.
