Puri
The Jagannath Temple of Puri is one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites and the spiritual epicentre of Odisha — a towering 65-metre shikhara rising above the city, housing the revered wooden idols of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra. The atmosphere inside is overwhelming in the most beautiful sense of the word.
Non-Hindu visitors should climb the Raghunandan Library platform opposite the main gate for the best exterior view of the temple.
