Nainital Lake

Nainital Lake

Naini Lake is the jewel of Nainital — a stunning pear-shaped natural freshwater lake cradled within seven forested hills of the Kumaon Himalaya at an elevation of 2,084 metres. The emerald green waters, framed by deodar-covered slopes and Himalayan peaks, create one of the most scenic lake settings in India. Boating on Naini Lake at sunrise or dusk is an iconic Nainital experience. Considered sacred to the goddess Naina Devi, the lake is the spiritual and geographical heart of Nainital, Uttarakhand.
