Mahabaleshwar, at 1,353 meters in the Sahyadri Hills of Maharashtra, is the state's most popular hill station and the summer capital of the Bombay Presidency during British times, renowned for its spectacular valley viewpoints, lush strawberry farms, and the panoramic Wilson Point from which the sunrise over the Western Ghats is one of Maharashtra's most beautiful sights. The Arthur's Seat viewpoint, known as the Queen of all Points, the sacred Krishnabai Temple at the source of the Krishna River, and the old colonial town of Old Mahabaleshwar with its charming 16th-century stone church add historical depth to the scenic beauty. Fresh strawberries, cream, and the local chikki candy make Mahabaleshwar's food as memorable as its views.
Venna Lake is Mahabaleshwar's most popular attraction — a picturesque artificial lake in the heart of the hill station offering boating, horse riding along the banks, and lakeside stalls selling fresh strawberries with cream. A top Mahabaleshwar sightseeing and family destination. Rowboats and paddle boats are available for hire at modest rates. Free to walk around; boating charges apply. Most vibrant in the early morning when mist lifts off the water. Strawberries from the stalls are unmissable.

Commanding sweeping Sahyadri valley views and housing an active Bhavani Devi temple. A top Mahabaleshwar heritage sightseeing destination for Maratha history enthusiasts. Entry fee applies; 24 km from Mahabaleshwar town.
Arthur's Seat is Mahabaleshwar's most dramatic viewpoint — a sheer cliff edge at 1,470 m with vertiginous drops into the Koyna Valley below, known as the Queen of all Points. On clear days, the distant Arabian Sea is visible. One of the finest panoramic Mahabaleshwar sightseeing destinations. Free entry; most spectacular during and immediately after monsoon when valleys fill with cloud and mist. One of the most photographed Maharashtra viewpoints. Best visited early morning before haze builds.
Mapro Garden is Mahabaleshwar's most beloved family and food destination — a sprawling garden and food park by the iconic Mapro strawberry brand, with fresh strawberry products, live cooking shows, strawberry ice cream, crushes, and jams produced on-site. A top Mahabaleshwar sightseeing and culinary experience. Free garden entry; food charges apply. Peak season is February–April when strawberries are freshest. The chocolate fudge and fresh strawberries with cream are impossible to pass by.
