Kanha Zone is the heart of Kanha National Park — the inspirational setting for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and the finest tiger reserve in central India. The iconic Kanha meadow (Kanha Maidan), surrounded by towering sal forests, is the best tiger spotting ground in Madhya Pradesh and home to the hard-ground barasingha (swamp deer), a species saved from extinction here.
